You MUST still bring your application paperwork in to the McDowell County Sheriff's Office to be signed and notarized before it can be processed.

No appointment necessary for renewals BUT application paperwork MUST still be signed, notarized and returned to the McDowell County Sheriff's Office before it can be processed.
